Our second project in Junior Painting is to cover an object with paint and then paint that object paying attention to all the varying textures, edges, and values. The idea is to “paint paint” in order to gain knowledge of how our medium works and how we can control it.
We are supposed to work from small depth of focus photographs so that there is lots of variation of edges. Here are a few of my best pictures. I haven’t decided which one to use for the painting yet.
